Hamdelan Cultural House is a not-for-profit, community-based organization committed to preserving, celebrating, and sharing Iranian culture and values within Western Australia’s multicultural landscape.
Our Vision To foster cultural understanding, inclusivity, and community cohesion by promoting the richness of Iranian heritage through accessible programs and cross-cultural engagement.
Our Objectives and Purpose
Cultural Preservation and Promotion We actively promote Iranian culture, traditions, arts, and the Farsi language by hosting a wide range of events—including cultural festivals, theatre productions, musical and dance performances, and traditional celebrations.
Community Engagement and Support Hamdelan serves as a central hub for Iranian-speaking individuals, providing networking opportunities, community-building events, and tailored programs that empower people to stay connected with their roots while feeling welcomed in their new environment.
Settlement Assistance for New Arrivals We offer culturally appropriate information, support, and referrals to assist newly arrived Iranian-speaking migrants in their settlement and integration journey. This includes guidance on access to local services, language support, and community orientation.
Educational and Enrichment Programs Our workshops and classes span a wide variety of interests—health and wellness, language and literature, arts and crafts, music, theatre, dance, sports, meditation, and yoga—open to all ages. These programs are designed to support lifelong learning and well-being within the community.
Youth and Family Engagement Hamdelan develops targeted initiatives for youth and families to encourage identity-building, cultural education, and active community participation. Programs emphasize leadership development, social responsibility, and intergenerational connection.
Intercultural and Multicultural Collaboration By partnering with other cultural, social, and nonprofit organizations, both locally and internationally, Hamdelan promotes mutual support and cultural exchange. We regularly participate in multicultural events to promote dialogue and bridge understanding between diverse communities.
Cultural Media and Publications To preserve and share Iranian heritage with current and future generations, we produce a variety of cultural content—newsletters, articles, podcasts, videos, and archival media that document community voices, events, and history.
Civic Participation and Advocacy Hamdelan advocates for social inclusion, cultural recognition, and equitable access to services for the Iranian-speaking community in Western Australia. We maintain a neutral, non-political, and non-religious stance, ensuring our space is inclusive and welcoming to all individuals regardless of ethnic background, religion, or beliefs.
Inclusivity at Our Core Our commitment to diversity is central to everything we do. Hamdelan welcomes all Iranians and non-Iranians alike who share an interest in Iranian culture or wish to engage with our community in a respectful and meaningful way.
